Weekend

So far the weekend has been really positive. Heaps of people went home, which is fine with me. And it's been rainy and cool. Last night, about 5:00, four guys and a girl rocked up to our unit with drinks in hand and a large cooler. They explained they were "unit crawling" and that they were spending 20 minutes in each unit until they had completed their crawl through south--14 units. In their cooler they had extra drinks, mixers, and sausages that they planned to cook  in someone's unit. I thought this was hilarious and a brilliant way of meeting people and making new friends. They encouraged me to come with them but I told them I was more keen on dinner than unit crawling. A few hours later, I was doing laundry and ran into them again, their group had grown to about 12 or so and they said they were about finished. I rounded out the crawl with them in units 6-8 and by the time we were done had a party of about 30 people.

Dinner. Teish, one of the girls who has heaps of trouble cooking and can even mess up something that just needs to be warmed up in the microwave, told us she was going to make tea last night. I was skeptical, but she kicked me out of the kitchen, told me I couldn't help and, about 30 minutes later, had a decent spread of fajitas! I told her good job and well done and did the dishes for her.

Returning from unit crawl. When we came back from unit crawl, everyone else wanted to go out. Not being too keen on that, I stayed home with Ash and we made some boss chicken, cheese, and avocado sandwich melts. One of the other RAs came over and hung out for a while--Loz--and gave us tips and pointers as Ash and I rearranged Teish's room, turned what we could upside down, and strung toilet paper all around the room. She had a good melt down when she got home and Ash and I restored her room.

We're all going out to dinner tonight at 6. I'm not sure where, though. I finally got to wash my clothes yesterday, but the dryers are terrible and I've put them through two cycles and they are still wet.

I cut my hair last night and Nathan wasn't there to do the back for me. That was weird.

I've started introducing myself as "America."

Cheers
~Daniel
